Estridentismo

The task of the artist is to create art that reflects and serves the forces of change--and when necessary, by destroying the art that had preceded it and that could not but reflect the values of the old order. That is to say, we must move beyond the awareness that change is possible as being a prerequisite for popular action to the realization that change is inevitable and already in progress. The only thing constant is change. This, like the violence of popular armies, regenerates the creation of new values, above and beyond the destruction of old ones.
